  1. Hi Zayden,

My name's Ruby and I will be one of the people blogging with you this summer.

Well done these are good facts. I like how you have connected the movie Moana to this story about Maui.
I wonder if you have read the story of Maui and the Sun. If you would like to read that story here is the link:

I look forward to reading more of your blog.
    Cheers,
    Ruby.

  2. Kia Ora Zayden,

Well done on completing your first blog post, I like how you suggested another story about Maui. Did you know that Maui isn't just Māori though? Particularly in the movie Moana, he's actually Hawaiian. But that's purely because Maui is a part of all Polynesian mythology. We all have different versions about Maui.
Can you tell me why he wasn't allowed to go fishing, even though he's a great fisherman?

Keep up the good work Zayden, ka pai!

Keep up the awesome blogging! You’ve made a great start. Can you think of any skills Maui would have needed to go fishing?
Did you know Maui used the stars, waves and water currents as a way of navigating!? Pretty cool aye!

Great to see you have made a start on your Summer Learning Journey tasks. It's really interesting that Maui was a great fisherman but he wasn't allowed to go fishing. Why was that? Looking forward to reading more of your posts over the rest of the summer holidays.
